Profile: Bumblebee
Allegiance: Autobot
Bumblebee is the go-to guy when the Autobots need a spy. Though he seems young and unsure of himself, he's very talented when it comes to epionage. His small size lends alot to his stealth. It also allows him to go on many missions where some of the larger Autobots would be a liability; such as space missions where cargo would be a concern.
Bumblebee was chosen to go on Optimus Prime's energy expedition four million years ago. After the Autobot ship crashed on Earth, Bumblebee lay dormant with the other Autobots and Decepticons until Teletraan-1 was reactivated in 1984. He made fast friends with the humans the Autobots encountered, particularly Spike Witwicky.
Bumblebee's job often put in very dangerous situations. Many times he faced capture or death to complete his missions. Bumblebee and Sparkplug Witwicky were trapped in a collapsed ruby mine in Burma, where Bumblebee saved Sparkplug's life by using his own body to shield the human from the falling rocks. A mission to spy on the Decepticon Spacebridge resulted in the capture of both Spike and Bumblebee. Bumblebee's memory chips were altered to lead the Autobots into a trap, but later the diminutive Autobot was able to rescue Spike.
Bumblebee wasn't always in need of rescue, though. In fact, on several occasions Bumblebee saved the other Autobots, and even the Earth from destruction. Bumblebee attached the Attitude Exchanger to Optimus Prime, when the Autobots were temporarily reprogrammed to cause mayhem. Bumblebee went with Perceptor and Brawn on a miniaturized infiltration into the very body of Megatron to disarm the Heart of Cybertron crystal within the Decepticon leader. He traveled to the planet of the T'lalicans and helped free the organic shapeshifters from Decepticon oppression. He also was solely responsible for the destruction of the dangerous Pearl of Bahoudin.
Bumblebee's confidence grew in the decades that followed. Eventually he was stationed with Spike on the Autobot's secret station called Moon Base 2, orbiting Cybertron. In 2005, soon after the siege of Autobot City had ended, Moon Base 2 was destroyed by the planet devouring monster, Unicron. Bumblebee and Spike tried to stop Unicron by blowing up the base, but that failed and they were pulled into the maw of the all-devouring being. They were captured by Unicron's internal defenses, and fated to be digested in an acid pit, when they were rescued by Spike's son, Daniel. Bumblebee, Spike, Daniel and a few of the other devoured Autobots escaped when Rodimus Prime destroyed Unicron. Bumblebee continued to serve under the new Autobot leader.
Bumblebee was restationed in the Autobot Volcano, until it was destroyed by Trypticon. Afterward he was transferred to Autobot City where he continued to work with Spike, as well as other humans. Bumblebee was present when Scourge and Starscream's ghost stole Metroplex's eyes.
Bumblebee was gravely injured by Superion, when the Aerialbot giant was infected with the Hate-Plague. He was completely rebuilt by a Quintesson, and renamed Goldbug by the newly resurrected Optimus Prime.
