Profile: Beachcomber

Allegiance: Autobot

Beachcomber is a quiet, peace-loving Autobot. His expertise in geology made him a necessity to bring along on Optimus Prime's energy expedition into space. Beachcomber was aboard the Autobot ship when it crashed to the Earth, and lay dormant within its walls until he was repaired and reawakened.

Beachcomber marvelled at Earth's alien geology and at the myriad of organic lifeforms on the planet. He would much rather spend his time studying soil, rocks and trees than battling Decepticons. At one point, Beachcomber discovered a hidden grotto, an unspoiled paradise, where animals and plants grew wild and untouched by civilization. In the garden Beachcomber also discovered a pool of Electrum. He knew that Electrum would augment Transformer armor, providing temporary invulnerability. Never the soldier, he chose to hide his discovery rather than have the Autobot and Decepticon armies trampling the pristine nature. Later, The Decepticon warrior Thrust discovered the Electrum pool and reported his discovery back to Megatron. As Beachcomber feared, the garden was destroyed by the Autobots and Decepticons. He lamented its loss alone.

Beachcomber continued serving under Optimus Prime, and later under Rodimus Prime. Beachcomber was stationed in the Autobot Volcano, when it was destroyed by Trypticon in 2005. Not much was seen of Beachcomber after that attack, though it appears that he survived.
