Profile: Astrotrain

Allegiance: Decepticon

Astrotrain is the Decepticon Triple-changer who functions as their main means of physical transport. Though he's seen his share of battles, most of his time and energy is spent taking warriors to battlegrounds or to bases, rather than in open warfare. Astrotrain doesn't let the lack of fighting erode his self-esteem; rather the opposite is true. Astrotrain sees himself as invaluable and has quite an inflated ego. he has tried to set himself up as a god to primitive aliens, and once even conspired with Blitzwing to overthrow Megatron and Starscream. In robot mode he is an average-sized Decepticon, but when he transforms into either one of his vehicle modes his size increases exponentially so that he can carry many Decepticons, or any other cargo, within his bays.

After 2005, Astrotrain's usefulness gradually diminished, as many more spacefaring Decepticons arose. He still had much more cargo capacity than the other Decepticons, but the others were faster and far more numerous than the number of previous space-worthy Decepticons. His last notable moment was when he was possessed by the ghost of Starscream, and used to steal an eye from Trypticon. When Starscream was finished with Astrotrain, he dumped the Decepticon in the middle of Autobot territory. The Autobots allowed Astrotrain to go free in return for cooperating with foiling Starscream's plan to merge Unicron's Head with Cybertron, but not much was seen of the Decepticon transport after that incident.
