Profile: Animaliens

Animaliens are a vicious anthropomorphic creatures used as gladiators in Lord Gyconi's Pit of Destruction, a gambling establishment on the planet Monacus, in the underworld district of Sheol. In 1986, Optimus Prime, Inferno, Perceptor, Bumblebee and Smokescreen were captured by an alien named Bosch. Bosch's ship was able to steal the free will of all but Smokescreen, who offered to get Bosch the Energon the alien needed to power his ship, in return for his comrades freedom.

In order to gamble on Monacus, they needed to use the will-less Autobots as collateral, and the only place that would accept them was Lord Gyconi's Pit of Destruction. Smokescreen was unable to come up with the money in time, so the captive Autobots were forced into the Pit of Destruction. Optimus Prime was forced to fight an Animalien, until Smokescreen disrupted the games. Smokescreen rescued theAutobots from Gyconi with the help of an Autobot bounty hunter named Devcon, Bosch and one of Gyconi's henchmen, Slizardo. The Animaliens, though, were still the savage captives of Gyconi.
