Profile: Autobot X

Allegiance: Autobot

Autobot X was created by Sparkplug Witwicky out of spare parts. It was originally built to house a wounded Autobot's mind while his body was being repaired. Instead, though, it was used to house the mind of Spike Witwicky while the young man went through a dangerous operation. The mind transfer process caused an instability in Spike's mind, causing him to become depressed, paranoid and violent. Megatron tried to use Autobot X/Spike against the Autobots, but Spike eventually overcame the side-effects of the mind transfer, and stayed loyal to the Autobots. Spike's mind was returned to his body after the operation was completed, and Autobot X was placed in storage.
