Profile: Caliburst

Allegiance: Decepticon, The Hive

Caliburst is a member of the tyrannical regime that rules Nebulos called The Hive. He and the other Hive members developed the ability to control machines using their minds. They used their powers to subjugate their subject by controlling huge powerful machines. The more they developed their powers, the more their bodies withered, so they retreated to their secluded underground city, Scorponok, where they could control and monitor their machines from afar.

The only resistance they ran into came from a handful of rebels, who would not have lasted much longer if the Autobots hadn't intervened. An Autobot shuttle crashed on Nebulos, and the Nebulan Rebels forged an alliance with the Autobots, and invented the Binary Bonding process, where a small humanoid could pilot an exosuit, which would partner with a particular robot in vehicle mode. The exosuit would then transform into the robot's head, when the Autobot would return to robot mode. The Autobots who underwent this process became known as Headmasters.

The Hive discovered this innovation and sought to use it for themselves. The used their Hive Machines to capture a group of Decepticons and force them to Binary Bond with the Hive. Cyclonus and several others in the group refused to give up their heads, and instead offered up their weapons for conversion. The Hive accepted, creating Decepticon Headmasters, and a new sub-group, the Targetmasters.

Caliburst became the Targetmaster partner of Slugslinger, and joined in the fight against the Autobots. They followed the Hive leader, Lord Zarak in order to capture the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber. Zarak, who had converted their Scorponok into his giant Decepticon Headmaster, easily captured the Key, and took the Hive and their Decepticon partners to Cybertron.

Once there, the Hive Targetmasters and Zarak had to face off with Galvatron, who detested the idea of organic creatures cohabitating with Decepticons, and threatened to kill them all. Galvatron begrudgingly agreed to allow the Hive to work with them, after he learned that Zarak possessed the Key. Galvatron the used the Key to open the Plasma Energy Chamber to destroy Cybertron, while the Hive and the Decepticon partners battled the Autobots.

As Scorponok was lifting off from Cybertron, to escape the destruction of the planet, it was hit by a bolt of Plasma Energy, causing an overload which blasted the giant Decepticon and all aboard deep into space, including Caliburst.

Current Status: Lost in space aboard Scorponok
